Luca Antonucci

Luca's grant was used to purchase two digital pianos, five MIDI keyboards, and Sibelius notation software. This will allow students to create and record their own digital compositions, play along with backing tracks, and practice performing on high-quality instruments.

The benefits of these proposed purchases would be significant in all areas of the music program and across all three divisions. The MIDI keyboards would enable students to produce and create electronic musical compositions in different spaces throughout the building. With access to the Roland digital pianos, students could create and record their own digital compositions, play along with backing tracks and practice performing on high-quality instruments with realistic grand piano action. Students could record their playing, interface with digital devices, and utilize a number of built-in teaching tools as part of Roland’s app, Piano Every Day. In addition, students would benefit from state-of-the art technology that allows users to change the sound and touch of the keyboard to accurately simulate the experience of performing on a concert grand.
