About Us

Global Focus

Developing a Worldview

Envision an education that prepares students for engagement with the global world. Shift cultural lenses, languages, and disciplines to gain different perspectives, develop a kind of global literacy, and spark imagination, empathy, and inspiration. Go—literally go—to places that will reveal how you as an individual can connect to, and have an impact on, your world. At Brimmer our emphasis on global education enables our students to expand their understanding of what it means to be citizens not only of the school community but of an interdependent world.

Global Focus Starts with our Faculty

Many of our faculty travel globally for professional development. Recent trips have included: Beijing, Argentina, Morocco, Spain, India, China, Japan, and Finland.

Teachers in the Lower and Upper Schools were invited to visit schools in Beijing and Shenzhen, respectively, to offer workshops with local teachers on Brimmer’s interdisciplinary curriculum in STEAM and Global Studies.

During the summer, teachers have traveled to locations including Argentina, Morocco, Spain, India, Switzerland, China, Japan, and Finland for professional development and to enhance their curriculum during the school year.

The School has developed relationships with several international schools through partnerships and exchange programs. Examples include exchanges between students and faculty from the Podar International School in Pune, India, the Dandelion School in Beijing, China, and the Northlands School in Argentina.
As an inclusive private school community, Brimmer welcomes students who will increase the diversity of our school. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sex, gender, gender identity and expression, disability, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, or any other characteristic protected from discrimination under state or federal law, in the administration of our educational policies, admissions practices, financial aid decisions, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
