Global News

Meet our Global Studies Director

Kelly Neely is the Director of Global Studies and Humanities Department Co-Chair. She enjoys helping students connect with the world and learn about global issues and human rights through travel, critical thinking, and project-based learning. A member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), Kelly is happiest when constantly challenging herself as a teacher and a learner. She was selected as an NAIS Teacher of the Future to collaborate on future issues and trends in education.

Global Focus Starts with our Faculty

Many of our faculty travel globally for professional development. Recent trips have included: Beijing, Argentina, Morocco, Spain, India, China, Japan, and Finland.

Teachers in the Lower and Upper Schools were invited to visit schools in Beijing and Shenzhen, respectively, to offer workshops with local teachers on Brimmer’s interdisciplinary curriculum in STEAM and Global Studies.

During the summer, teachers have traveled to locations including Argentina, Morocco, Spain, India, Switzerland, China, Japan, and Finland for professional development and to enhance their curriculum during the school year.

The School has developed relationships with several international schools through partnerships and exchange programs. Examples include exchanges between students and faculty from the Podar International School in Pune, India, the Dandelion School in Beijing, China, and the Northlands School in Argentina.
